Living the Dream

This evening we drove about 40 minutes to get to a hotel on the Ghana border that has free internet along with the purchase of a beverage. I ordered a double shot of espresso and am watching a rugby match. Life in Africa is changing drastically.....for the better in most ways.

Melissa and I have been staying in Lome at a guest house. We found a home to in Aneho to rent, but it has never been lived in since it was built in 1994. You can imagine the fun cleaning and repairs that are being done right now. We are so thankful because the house will work great and it is 15 minutes from the Togo Palms camp property.

Melissa and I were in Kara last week for a few days picking up some supplies. We were also able to spend a few days in ministry while there. I was able to preach in the Kara prison and we had one man named Agouda trust Christ as Savior. I met another believer in the prison and encouraged them to pray together and study their Bibles.

Easter weekend was spent in the village church of Kpadape. This is a church that was started a few years ago with the help and influence of Rene Agbeli. The church has quite a few hurdles to overcome to reach their village for Christ. I have committed to preach in the church once a month for at least the next year. It is about a 3 hour drive from Aneho and Togoville. We are planning a village wide day of games and evangelism in June. We are praying that half of the population of 6,000 people will participate. Melissa and I will be back up there in one week to continue planning for this event.

We have been able to hire the first couple Togo Palms staff members over the last few days. These people will be working with us to run the mobile camps this year. We are so excited about what God has been doing in their lives.

Well, I had better head home in a minute. Thank you so much for your prayers.

JJ and Melissa
