35 Saved last night in Togoville

We have had 20 people with us from our home church in Jacksonville, Fl. We starting by playing games in Aneho on Monday afternoon. At the end of the gospel presentation, a young guy named Emmanuel told me he had questions. He walked to our home with us and sat in the gazeebo. Our conversation lasted about an hour and a half. At the end, he said he had never heard a clear explanation of the gospel before. He bowed his head and trusted Christ on Monday night.

Last night we traveled an hour to get to Togoville. The afternoon opened up with games in the school yard. The Trinity youth group did an incredible job in running games, handing out prizes, and loving on the kids. At dark, we showed the Jesus film in Ewe. We paused in the middle to explain salvation and forgiveness. We continued the film until about 9:15 pm. At the end, we closed the event and asked people to come forward if they had any questions. There were over eighty people that came forward with questions. There were 33 that gave their lives to Christ last night. These are people that we have contact information for and will follow up with. The plan is to start teaching the people this week.

While Jonas was dealing with the people in the front, I had the privilege of talking with two young men named David and Dodji. David told me he did not go to church, but had heard that Jesus did miracles. We looked at my Bible using a flashlight, then both bowed their heads and trusted Christ as Savior. I will go back to Togoville to meet with them this week.

All this to say, God has truly worked this week. We have seen 36 people trust Christ. He has kept the rain away while we were outdoors, and given us safety on the road.

I am currently at a hotel sending out this blog. We are on the way to Kpadape to do the same games and a film this evening. Please pray God works in incredible ways tonight.
