Day 3

The first full day of camp went extremely well. Looking back, I can say that it is the first day of camp that I was really happy with the flow of the day. Everyone did their jobs very well and knew what to expect. It was also a great day because we had fufu for lunch. This is my favorite African meal. It is made of boiled then pounded yams. It quickly turns into a very gluey mashed potatoes. Today’s sauce was made with fish and eggplant.

On a very positive note, we had 15 trust Christ on Thursday. One of the decisions was from a young guy named Derek. He is 19 years old and has never stepped foot in a church in his life. He has actually been coming to play soccer on the church soccer field for quite some time and Koffi had been working with him. His biggest obstacle to overcome was trying to comprehend that God is capable of forgiving all the terrible things he has done. It was a great moment when he bowed his head and trusted Christ.
